Both Tim and I grew up in Christian homes and chose to follow Christ when we were young. We were both very involved in our churches growing up, serving in different capacities and going on short-term mission trips. Our churches were missional focused so the idea of long term and short-term missions was not foreign to us.
We found United World Mission online and were drawn to their mission statement, "To partner with church leaders globally and to plant, nourish, and reproduce churches that delight God and surprise the world". After more prayer, the Lord made it clear once again that Germany was where He wanted us to go. In Germany they were looking for missionaries to come help with church planting in a rural area outside of Bonn, along the Rhine, where no evangelical churches exist and to help with discipleship among the students at Bible Seminar Bonn. By Spring of 2012 we were appointed to serve in Germany. We completed our missionary training at CIT in April of 2014 and reached our financial support requirement by Fall of 2014. We left for Germany in November 2014.
Currently we are in an Integrations class to help us learn German and to understand more of the culture. It is exciting as we partner with local families to establish a church in the area.
